Matching an OEM lamp isn’t as simple as checking the wattage on a label. If your temperature curve is even slightly off, you’re looking at a bad day—either your PET preforms aren’t heating enough, or you’re scorching the plastic. We built our replacement lamps for the Sidel Matrix to stop that guesswork. The science behind the heat Here’s the thing: we make sure these lamps mirror the original voltage and wattage exactly. When you pop one of our lamps into a Matrix oven, the power draw stays the same. That’s a huge relief because it means you don’t have to mess with your PLC logic or spend hours tweaking power controllers. But we also look at the spectral output—basically, the specific wavelength of the infrared light. You can have a lamp that feels “hot,” but if the wavelength is wrong, the plastic won’t actually absorb that heat. We align our emission peak with the original Sidel specs so the heat actually sinks into the preform wall the way it should. No headaches during install These are true drop-in replacements. We kept the same physical footprint and connector layouts because nobody wants to spend their afternoon fighting with wiring. We also used quartz glass that can handle a beating. These lamps go through rapid heating and cooling cycles, and they need to survive that stress. Plus, we use a specific halogen fill to keep the filament from evaporating too fast. It keeps the light—and the heat—steady for a lot longer. A quick heads-up on airflow These lamps are designed to push a massive amount of energy into a tiny space to keep your cycle times fast. It works great, but it puts a lot of pressure on your oven’s ventilation. If your cooling fans are clogged with dust, heat builds up around the sockets and can fry your connectors. Just keep your airflow clear. Do that, and these lamps will track that OEM heat curve right until the day they retire.
