
Why we stopped making “disposable” bathroom heaters
Most infrared bathroom heaters are basically sealed boxes. They work great—until they don’t. Once a heating tube burns out a few years in, you’re usually stuck. You can’t fix it, so the whole thing goes straight into the trash. That just felt wrong to us. So, we changed how we build them. Instead of one solid piece, we went with a modular design. We stopped worrying so much about how easy they are to put together in a factory and started thinking about how easy they are to fix in the real world. The beauty of the swap-out We made our heating modules “drop-in” replacements. Imagine it’s five years from now and a tube finally gives up. Instead of ripping out the whole chassis or messing with the wiring, you just pop the old tube out. We use standardized brackets and quick-disconnect terminals, so it’s a simple click-and-swap. A technician can have the heat back on in a couple of minutes without touching the rest of the electronics. The trade-off Now, there’s a catch. Modular frames take up a bit more room than the glued-in parts you find in cheap heaters. The unit is slightly larger. But to us, that’s a fair trade. You get a slightly bigger footprint in exchange for a heater that actually lasts. We also used high-temperature alloys for the clips. Why? Because constant heating and cooling can warp cheap metal. These clips stay put, meaning your tubes won’t shift or start rattling over time. Let’s be honest about maintenance Here is the reality: infrared tubes don’t last forever. No matter how fancy the brand is, the filament eventually thins out and snaps. It’s just physics. By making the system modular, we get rid of those annoying factory returns. You don’t have to ship a whole unit back to a warehouse. You just keep a few spare tubes on a shelf. Wire it up, click it into place, and you’re done. It’s a huge relief for facility managers who are juggling hundreds of units across a building. No downtime, no massive replacement bills—just a quick fix and you’re back in the warm.
